Apple has officially unveiled the much-anticipated Vision Pro 2, its latest mixed reality headset that blends virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) into a seamless, immersive experience. The announcement took place at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2025, generating significant excitement across the tech industry.
Building on the success of the original Vision Pro, Apple has focused on making the Vision Pro 2 lighter, more comfortable, and packed with new features. The headset weighs just under 400 grams — about 20% lighter than its predecessor — thanks to an all-new lightweight carbon fiber frame and improved battery design. Battery life has been extended to up to 4 hours per charge, and users can swap in an optional external battery pack for longer sessions.
At the heart of Vision Pro 2 is a custom Apple M3 XR chip, optimized for mixed reality workloads with ultra-low latency and power efficiency. The display features ultra-high resolution micro-OLED panels offering over 8K total resolution, delivering stunning visuals with vibrant colors and deep contrast.
