Foldables & Flagships: Samsung Debuts Galaxy Z Fold 7 & Flip 7

Samsung’s newest foldables have officially hit the market. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 impresses with an expanded 8″ internal screen, Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and a 200 MP main camera. Despite meaningful updates, reviewers cite concerns around battery life and the absence of features like 5x zoom or S Pen support.

Its companion, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, delivers a 4.1″ cover display, slimmer design, and One UI 8 atop Android 16. However, criticisms include thermal throttling issues, modest battery endurance, and a camera that lags behind Motorola’s Razr Ultra.

Complementing these launches, new wireless charging standard Qi2 at 25 W is underway—Flip 7 and Fold 7 are “Qi2‑Ready,” enabling faster charging via magnetic cases, with Apple’s upcoming iPhones also expected to support it.
